DESCRIPTION:Sunrise welcomes all parents\, students and staff as we re-open the school on the Sep 8\, 2020. \nWe know and understand this has been a difficult and challenging decision to make\, that is\, to return to work and care off your children in our midst. While there has been no official news of a cure found for COVID-19\, there are however\, many precautionary measures and policies that will be put into place for everyone’s safety. We encourage all parents to follow these policies strictly. Policy Compliance for COVID-19 prevention is mandatory for everyone. \nThe Ministry of Education have developed a guide to support the safe reopening of schools for the 2020-2021 school year. The song sheet is attached herewith for you to practice with your child at home. \nOur families know that a key component of the Montessori philosophy is the focus on peace education. Not only do students learn about cultures from around the world to gain respect for and understanding of people of many backgrounds\, but they also participate in ongoing grace and courtesy exchanges\, mindfulness exercises\, and conflict resolution lessons. SUMMARY:Terry Fox National School Run (Sep 21)
DESCRIPTION:The attire for this event is the green T-shirt for CASA students and above. The toddlers may opt to purchase the green T-shirt at $18 each or to wear the pink T-shirt.  \n****** \nOn April 12\, 1980\, Terry Fox began his Marathon of Hope in St. John’s\, Newfoundland. Terry brought an empty glass bottle to a small beach in Outer Cove and filled it with Atlantic seawater. He planned to pour the jug of water into the Pacific Ocean at the end of his run\, symbolically connecting our country from coast to coast. Enthusiasm and support for Terry was growing but after 143 days\, Terry was forced to stop running outside of Thunder Bay when his cancer returned to his lungs. \n40 years later\, our school is continuing Terry’s legacy by taking part in the Terry Fox School Run. Remember that we continue to walk in Terry’s footsteps\, representing everything he stood for; compassion\, courage and determination. \nTerry once said\, “Even if I don’t finish\, we need others to continue. It’s got to keep going without me”. \nWe thank you for joining us in the fight against cancer and continuing Terry’s legacy for generations to come. \n

DESCRIPTION:Sunrise Montessori is organizing a Parent Virtual Workshop on Monday\, Sep 21\, 2020 from 5.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. \nThe objective is to present the classroom curriculum as well as introduce the class teachers to you. It will be held online by the various individual classroom teachers where your child is presently studying.
