Sunrise March Break

A reminder that the coming Sunrise Montessori March Break is from March 13 – 17, 2017. School is closed for the CASA and Elementary students ONLY. The Toddler and Infant programs will continue as usual and will not be affected by the March Break. Additional childcare services are provided for those who had signed up and for the children who are registered with the York Region Childcare Services.

Parent Workshop

A workshop is being organized for all parents on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. It will be held in all the individual classrooms. The main objective of this workshop is to present the curriculum and to introduce the teachers to all parents / guardians.

Parents and/or Guardians -> Please RSVP to your child’s classroom teachers to confirm your attendance.

Pigmania Field Trip – Wednesday, March 1, 2017

Pigmania – The Hilarious Family Musical.  Rock along with a sax-playing Mama Pig. Party-loving Frankie and Woody join their whiz-kid sister, Brainella, and set out to make a life of their own. But sixties-throw-back Big Bad Wolf has some other ideas. High-energy fun, audience participation, and a large singing and dancing cast starring Juno Award winners, Judy & David!

Sunrise Montessori is strongly supporting this event by educating our students on the attributes of kindness and to establish a caring school community. We would like all our students, teachers and all staff to wear a pink T-shirt to symbolize our mission. We are also seeking sponsorship from parents, companies, SMS Parent Council, business organizations to sponsor this event by CASH sponsorship which will be used to provide free T-shirts to all and to all anti-bullying initiatives.

A sponsorship letter will be emailed out to all parents for their attention. We will be screening anti-bullying films (in all kinds of animation) throughout the day at our Gym. Children will also be provided with healthy pop-corns while watching these films.

All parents are invited to come and join in the fun. We can’t do it without our School Community Support !!

Bio of the speaker :  Satish Verma is president and CEO of “ Think and Grow Rich Institute” that conducts courses, seminars and workshops on success principles. These principles were developed after twenty years of research on the minds of those individuals who shaped the destiny of our world. These principles are based on applied psychology of human behavior that deals with success in personal and professional life of individuals. Personal life area includes relationships between employer and employees, between parents and children, between spouses and above all the relationship with your own-self. Mr. Verma took very extensive courses in the area of building relationships and had been counselling parents and children for over 20 years. He specializes in helping parents build confidence and high self-esteem in their children. He helps parents to help their children live up to their fullest potential. He also helps individuals and corporations to inspire and motivate employees to be more productive to live up to their full potential.

Jump Rope for Heart – Monday, January 30 (rescheduled)

Venue – School Gym
Time – See schedule below. Each class is being allocated for 15 minutes only.
Attire – RED for both students and teachers
Event – A gym track will be set up, consisting of the crash pads, balance beams, stepping stones, tunnel and parachutes followed by the jump rope for the older children. The younger children could swing the ropes.

This is a fund raising event to raise funds for the needy as well as to raise the level of awareness of the matter of possessing a healthy heart. Kindly dress your child in RED in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. You may pledge online as well. OUR GOAL THIS YEAR IS $4000. Every bit of donation helps.
